Five Tower Defence Habits That Save Every Run
After a few hundred maps across different tower defence games, the same mistakes keep showing up — mine included. Here's what I've learned to do automatically now.
First, scout before you build. Most games show the enemy path and the first few wave types. Thirty seconds of reading saves you a whole restart. Second, spend on economy early when the game lets you. A slightly weaker opening buys a much stronger mid-game.
Third, layer your damage types. A wall of identical towers melts the moment one enemy resists them. Mix splash with single-target and you cover your blind spots. Fourth, keep a reserve of currency for emergencies — one upgrade at the right second has saved more runs than I can count.
Fifth, and people hate this one: let a weak early wave through on purpose sometimes. If the leak costs one life but lets you tech up two tiers, it's often the right call. Think in the whole run, not just the next wave.
None of this is flashy, but good tower defence is quiet discipline. The flashy plays come later, when you've got the fundamentals on autopilot.
